On July 30, several capybaras wandered into the state assembly building in Cuiabá, briefly diverting attention from an imminent vote as they roamed the government premises.

Footage captured by legislative staffer Nayara Bueno shows the animals moving calmly through the entrance while employees attempted to guide them back outside. "They show up here quite often, so we've gotten used to seeing them," Bueno told the Associated Press, reflecting the locals' familiarity with the region's wildlife.
